How bidding works
You must be signed in with a complete profile to bid. On each listing you enter a maximum bid — the most you are willing to pay. That amount stays private. Sellers cannot set custom bid steps; Letsallbuy applies the same increment ladder on every auction.
| Current auction price | Bid increment |
|---|---|
| Up to £9.99 | £1 |
| £10 – £24.99 | £2 |
| £25 – £99.99 | £2 |
| £100 – £249.99 | £5 |
| £250 – £999.99 | £10 |
| £1,000+ | £25 |
- Current bid is what everyone sees. We raise it for you in whole-pound platform increments (see table above — the listing shows the minimum for the current price).
- You only pay enough to stay ahead of the next bidder, up to your maximum — not necessarily your full maximum.
- If you are already winning, you can still raise your maximum to protect your lead without waiting to be outbid.
- Anti-snipe: in the final 30 or 60 seconds (set by the seller on each listing), a bid that raises the current price or comes from someone else can extend the auction. Raising only your hidden maximum while you are already winning does not reset the clock.
Payment, collection, and postage are arranged between buyer and seller after the auction ends — Letsallbuy runs the clock and bidding rules only.
